The Pittsburgh I/T Staffing
List originated over 10 years ago to help information technology (I/T) professionals find work through staffing companies located in and around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, The list includes any staffing company with an office in Pittsburgh or the southwestern corner including Allegheny County, Armstrong County, Butler County, Beaver County, Fayette County, Greene County, Washington County, and Westmoreland County. We also recognize people may live further away, such as southeastern Ohio, northern West Virginia, western Maryland, and other counties within Pennsylvania.
Staffing companies may also be called recruiters, contractors, consultants, etc. In the end, however, they are firms that provide information technology workers to other employers on a short-term basis. Some firms also perform in-house staffing or outsource services for entire I/T departments. Staffing companies may also offer their clients - employers - contract-to-hire (also called temp-to-hire) arrangements for employees (you).
The Consulting List
appeared a few years later when several independent consultants
wanted to be listed as well. Over time the site continued to grow
with additional resources to help information technology professionals
find work in the area.
We don't ask for money to be listed and we don't ask for money to
use the site. You will never see advertising on this site that is not directly aimed at helping you find work. WeI maintain the site because so many people have found the list helped them through a layoff, downsizing or whatever the latest euphemism is. People new to the region have also found this information helpful.
All lists are alphabetical because we do not endorse
or promote specific companies or web sites. I have worked for some
of these companies so I do have first-hand experience working for
staffing firms. From time to time I am also a hiring manager and
generally prefer working with a staffing firm for short- or medium-term
needs.
